November 2024 von den Fraktionsspitzen im EU-Parlament als Vizeexekutivpr\u00e4sidentin &#8211; und damit auch als&nbsp; &#8211; Wettbewerbskommissarin best\u00e4tigt worden. Gruppen im Europ\u00e4ischen Parlament hatten sich in Br\u00fcssel nun darauf geeinigt, den Vorschl\u00e4gen von Kommissionspr\u00e4sidentin von der Leyen zuzustimmen, nachdem Kontroversen hinsichtlich der Verantwortlichkeit von Ribera in ihrer Funktion als spanische Umweltministerin f\u00fcr ein sog. Beh\u00f6rdenversagen bei den \u00dcberschwemmungen in der Region Valencia Ende Oktober die Auseinandersetzung um die Person Riberas gepr\u00e4gt hatten. Eine abschlie\u00dfende Abstimmung im Plenum wird am 4.
